Mattie Wagner grew up outside of St. Paul, Minnesota. She earned her B.S. in Zoology from Colorado State University in 2016. During her undergraduate career, she spent time in the research laboratory of Dr. Michael Murtaugh at the University of Minnesota in the Veterinary Sciences Department. She spent time performing research on the pig viruses porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV) and porcine circovirus (PCV2). After graduating from Colorado State University, Mattie joined the Phelan lab in the Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Colorado in July of 2016.
